Residential Snow Shoveling & Removal Services in Calgary

PROFESSIONAL PROPERTY CARE

Get a snow clearing quote for your Calgary property

Enter your address to start your quote. Tell us which driveway, sidewalk, walkway or steps need clearing.

A snowy driveway is one job. Keeping the sidewalk, front steps and route to your door clear is another. YardBell offers snow shovelling and removal in Calgary for the areas you actually use, with one-time visits and recurring winter plans.

Tell us what needs clearing and when you need access. Your quote sets out the work, visit schedule and price before booking, so you know what to expect when the next snowfall arrives.

Residential snow shovelling

Snow clearing for the routes you use every day

Choose the areas you need help with. A visit can include your driveway, the public sidewalk beside your property, a front-door walkway, steps or a porch. Each property is different: a short front walk and a wide driveway take different amounts of work.

  • Homeowners and seniors: Get help with heavy snow and winter access without doing the shovelling yourself.
  • Landlords and rental properties: Arrange clearing for tenants’ entrances and the areas included in your quote.
  • Small commercial and shared properties: Ask about clearing entrances and pedestrian routes for your business, condominium or HOA.

For a larger area that may need equipment, see our snow plowing service. Tell us about existing ice when you request snow clearing; removing snow and treating ice are separate jobs.

How to book snow shovelling

  1. Request a quote. Send your address and list the areas you need cleared. Mention steps, gates, parked vehicles and any difficult access.
  2. Confirm the plan. Review the price, snowfall trigger, response schedule, snow-storage area and optional de-icer before booking.
  3. We clear the agreed areas. Keep access available and let us know about any changes before the visit.
  4. Check the result. If you need a completion update or photo confirmation for a rental property, ask us to confirm that arrangement when booking. Contact us if an agreed area needs attention.

Snow clearing pricing

One-time visits typically cost $30–$75, depending on the area to clear, snow depth and access. Request a property-specific quote for recurring or seasonal service. De-icer is an optional extra; its charge, extra visits and applicable tax are confirmed in your quote.

Calgary sidewalks: the 24-hour rule

If your property borders a public sidewalk, Calgary requires the owner or occupant to clear snow and ice to a bare surface within 24 hours after snowfall ends. Your responsibility applies even if a light snowfall is below the trigger depth in your service plan. Make sure your booking covers the sidewalk and timing you need.

Read the City of Calgary’s snow and ice clearing requirements. Snow cleared from a private driveway or walkway should be stored on your own property.

Snow clearing questions

What does your snow shovelling service include?

We clear the areas agreed in your quote: driveways, sidewalks, front-door walkways, steps and porches. Tell us which areas you need cleared before booking. De-icer is available on request and priced separately.

When do you start after a snowfall?

Visits are arranged around the end of snowfall or the trigger depth agreed for your plan. A typical trigger is 1–2 inches (about 2.5–5 cm), but your quote confirms the depth and response schedule for your property. Ask about timing before you book, especially if you need access early in the day.

What happens during a long or multi-day snowstorm?

A long storm may require more than one visit. We agree on repeat visits and any additional charges with you as part of the plan. Ask whether your quote includes a final pass after the snow stops.

Do you offer one-time and seasonal snow clearing?

Yes. You can book a single visit or ask for a recurring monthly or seasonal plan. The areas to clear, snowfall trigger, visit schedule and any extra visits are confirmed in your quote.

How much does snow shovelling cost?

Per-visit snow clearing typically costs $30–$75, depending on the area, snow depth and access. Seasonal plans require a property-specific quote. De-icer is an optional extra; its fee and any applicable tax are confirmed before booking.

Do I still need to clear a public sidewalk after a light snowfall?

Yes. Calgary requires owners or occupants of properties next to a public sidewalk to clear snow and ice to a bare surface within 24 hours after snowfall ends. A service-plan trigger does not change this responsibility. Tell us if you need sidewalk clearing below your usual trigger depth.

Can you help seniors or people who cannot shovel?

Yes. Snow clearing can help homeowners who want to avoid lifting heavy snow or working outside in winter. If you are arranging service for a family member, let us know the address, areas to clear and any access needs when requesting a quote.

Can landlords or property managers arrange service?

Yes. Tell us which rental property, shared entrance or walkway needs clearing and who should receive the quote. For a small commercial site or an HOA/condominium property, ask us to confirm the scope and route availability before booking.

Where will the cleared snow go?

Before the first visit, identify an appropriate snow-storage area on the property. Snow from a private driveway or walkway should stay on your property. Let us know about gates, parked cars, drains or landscaping that may limit access or snow storage.

What should I do if an area was missed or becomes icy again?

Contact YardBell and describe the affected area. New snowfall, meltwater and refreezing can change conditions after a visit. We will review the issue with you and confirm whether another visit or de-icer treatment is needed, including any charge before work is arranged.
